Two on the Rocks

Wow, 31 marble pictures was tough one. I tried kicking the madness off by added a marble everyday but that soon became very difficult. I then moved on the splash down pictures and they proved to be very fun to shoot and lead to some really cool pictures. And then the last few days have just been some fun quirky pictures. It has been a long month and I'm looking forward to next month's and it's theme. Tune in tomorrow for the new theme.

Underwater Fireball (Friday August 20th)

Sorry for the delay in pictures, been a really busy week. This is Friday's picture, I love the fireball, comet like trail of the top marble, especially juxtaposed to the lower marble.

The best part of this set of marble photos is that every time a marble drops into the water it leaves a unique bubble trail behind it. Every photo gets all sorts of swirls and bubbles.

Sploooooooossshhhhh!!!!

Gave up on the adding a marble a day and have just gone artistic with it. I saw a cool picture of marbles dropping into water on flickr and wanted to make my own version of that shot. This is my attempt at it. This is quite difficult to pull off, so I'm going to keep shooting and see if I can get some better shots (not that I don't like this one).

This is Saturday, August 14th's pic. It's getting real tough to get shots with all the marbles in them. This glass does have all 14 marbles in there although you might not be able to see them all. I don't know if I'll be able to continue doing the add a marble a day madness. If I do they may not all be visible but will be there.

Friday the 13th theme.... nah, just 13 socketed marbles

I was going to do some kind of Friday the 13th theme/anti-them like a 4 leaf clover or something like that, but it didn't pan out. I do like the shininess of the sockets and the reflectiveness of the sockets and marbles. There are 13 marble in there, a bit hard to count them all, but they are all there.

Who said pictures have to be focused to be good. Sharpness - bah! This was inspired by doing something I rarely do and that's using the live view mode on my camera. I saw this setup blurry on the screen and liked the way it looked.

The irritating thing about marbles is that they tend to roll all over the place which makes taking pictures of them very difficult. Lucky my socket set has both metric and standard in it, giving me plenty of "marble stands".
