Photo 365 - On Assignment

Hello There Everyone and Welcome to the Blog

I have three sets of photos here. The first is my photo project (the original page) entitled Photo 365 - On Assignment. It was a spin on a 365 photo project. I love the idea of the 365 project, but I needed a little more structure. I also needed some help getting out of my photographic comfort zone. I decided to take suggestions for monthly themes from the people around me and those who view my photos. I finished the project on January 15th, but please feel free to go back and enjoy my year in pictures.

The second page is dedicated to my favorite photographic subject, nature. Right now that page contains just photos I have taken in Everglades National Park. I just finished updating it, adding more photos, captions, and common and scientific names for all the shots. Please enjoy!

The third page is from the second UM Spring Football game in 2010. This was my first foray into sports photography. I was "working" this event with a friend of mine who blogs for a Hurricane's sports blog. All the shots came from the stands because we didn't have sideline passes, but I still got some decent shots. I hope to update this page with shots from this year's spring game. Go Canes!

Enjoy the blog!

Photo 365 - On Assignment - October (Architecture)

Coral Gables Congregational (Bell Tower)

And back on pace with today's picture, figure I'll put it up extra early to make for yesterday's going up late. Here we have the bell tower to the Coral Gables Congregational Church being nicely lit by the early rising sun. This was literally about a minute after sunrise hit the tower. The nice cool weather we had move in all gave a beautiful crystal clear blue sky to backdrop the tower. The contrast of the warm yellow of the tower and cool blue of the sky plays so well together. The early sun also gave some nice long shadows in a few areas. I'm a big fan of this shot.

Coral Gables City Hall (Friday October 15th)

This is the picture for Friday, October 15th. Sorry for the delay but the weather has not been very cooperative most of this week. Fortunately the weather has taken a turn for the absolutely perfect and I went out bright and very early this morning to get some new shots. Okay I'm playing my one sepia card with this shot. We have Coral Gables City Hall and it's statue of George Merrick out front. It's an old school building made out of coral limestone so I decided to give it an old school sepia look. I'm not a big fan of sepia, but everyone now and then it has it uses. I think it works well here.
